Environment and Safety Management Institute have today honour some Distinguished Nigerian’s at a Regional Stakeholders Discussion with the Fellowship of their institute in Gombe, and our amiable Governor His Excellency Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya was among the Distinguished Personalities honoured at the event. The Governor was represented by Dr. Hussaina Goje, Honourable Commissioner of Environment and in her remark after receiving the award on behalf of the Governor informed the gathering that the UN 2019 Climate Summit convened on the theme, “Climate Action Summit 2019: A Race We Can Win. A Race We Must Win.” Aim at reducing greenhouse gas emissions to prevent the mean global temperature from rising by more than 1.5 °C (2.7 °F) above preindustrial levels. Dr. Hussaina further said that His Excellency immediately he was sworn in as the Governor initiated Gombe Goes Green Project to create a carbon sink for carbon sequestration in order to reduce atmospheric pollutants. The Honourable Commissioner congratulates other recipients of the Fellowship and encouraged them to continue doing the work that qualifies them for the Fellowship, and also assure the Institute that Governor Inuwa will continue to remain consistent in the implementation of sound policies and programs that will improve the livelihood of the citizens of Gombe state and beyond.
